Write that sh*t out
The value in taking it to the page BEFORE you say it out loud
Have an idea? Working through something? What if — before you put it out into the world for public consumption — you had a way to work it with yourself first? Away from your ego, away from other peoples’ opinions, and just for you?
Why not try writing that sh*t out first?
Some ideas are precious, and tender, and unpopular in a way that you might not be ready to express online just yet. I’ve been a big fan of self-reflective journaling for a while now. It’s beyond stream of consciousness. It is turning to yourself before you ask your coach, or your therapist, or Claude ai. It is you digging a little deeper into your own well, and seeing what comes out of that.
Some ideas are just fleeting thoughts. Others have legs and have the potential to take off. The thing is, you might not have the level of willingness to actually do something about that big idea just yet, and the second you speak it out into existence by publishing, it changes your relationship with your audience, your friends, and your people.
This idea you are working through may be an experiment of a direction you’re not sure you want to go just yet. The blank page is a space of freedom, of discovery, and of the weight of expectation. You can write it out, burn after reading, or, save parts of your writing you want to take forward with you.
Have a conversation with yourself by writing and giving your self the liminal space to experiment, to dream, and to vision.
I’ve got some spaces to write it out, where I offer prompts that support you in excavating what’s important for you to chat out with the page. It might not be something you want to publish, and may be you expressing your fears, your desires, and your opinion in a space thats just for you.
